Meet the Momma
Hi there, I’m Amanda! I am a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, wife, momma, and lover of all things related to the health and wellness world.
In my early 20’s, I came down with Mono/Epstein Barr, which ultimately led to the development of POTS/Dysautonomia. As a result, my body was in a constant state of fight or flight. I felt severly anxious, depressed, dizzy, nauseas, brain fogged, fatigued, and the list goes on and on…
I saw countless practitioners, and was left feeling more and more frustrated with their approach to my health. I was told many times, that my labs were all normal and that there was nothing they could do to help me. Not accepting that this was how I wanted to live, I began asking more questions, diving deeper and thinking outside of the box, which is what led me to functional (root cause) medicine. I began to understand just how important creating a healthy lifestyle was and the concept of food is medicine.
What you will see in this blog is my love and passion for creating yummy and healthier alternatives to the foods you know and love. I started this blog about 5 years ago, when I was full time stay at home momma, and while also studying to become a holistic health coach.
I was inspired to share and create recipes of the foods you know and love but as you will see, we swap out some of the not so health supporting ingredients for more nutrient dense/higher quality ingredients. What I want people to know is that eating well and maintaining a healthy lifestyle does not have to be boring, bland or even complicated. I assure you that there is always a cleaner and simpler alternative out there! My favorite phrase is to “eat the food you love that loves you back”- and that starts with using BETTER FOR YOU ingredients
In addition to baking yummy treats, I work 1:1 with my clients to guide and support them along their journey to reaching their desired health goals. I work in collaboration with them as they embark on their path to discovering their own healing powers from within. My coaching method involves using a holistic approach that integrates mind, body and spirit. My clients receive personalized coaching, tools, and resources to help them overcome obstacles, cultivate self awareness and tap into their innate healing abilities.
